You will take this part of the test using a computer screen and a mouse. You will be shown 14 video clips of vehicles on the move and you will need to identify emerging hazards on the road around you. These include other vehicles, pedestrians, bends in the road. When you think you have identified a potential hazard you click the mouse button. the earlier you identify the problem the more points you score.
Time Allowed: 57 minutes.
Pass mark: 44 out of 75.
You will need to pass both parts. If you pass one and not the other you will need to retake the test.

Once you have passed your theory test you have to take and pass your practical driving test.
The driving test is designed to ensure you have a good knowledge of the Highway Code and are capable of driving safely on public roads. There are 3 parts to the test;
First the examiner will test your eyesight by asking you to read a number plate from the required distance - 20mtrs.
Then you will be asked two car safety questions in the "show and tell" part of the test. See all of the questions from the show me tell me test here.
The main part of the test will consist of driving one of the test routes for that test centre and undertaking manoeuvres like a "turn in the road" or "reverse parking"
Time Allowed: Around 50 minutes.
Pass mark: Up to 15 driving faults with no serious or dangerous faults

Before you can learn to drive (on public roads) you must be 17 years old or over and hold a provisional driving licence:
You will have to sit and pass the theory test. It is in 2 parts;
Pt. 1 Multiple Choice
You will take this part of the test using a touch screen computor. You answer multiple choice questions and questions based on a case study. The questions are designed to test your knowledge of the Highway Code and general roadcraft.
Time Allowed: 57 minutes.
Pass mark: 43 out of 50.
