If you like meeting people, are a good communicator and want flexible working hours a career as a driving instructor could be for you. However, don't be fooled by some of the advertising that you may have seen which gives the impression that becoming a driving instructor is a piece of cake.The standards required are high, both in driving ability and instructional skill. In fact, almost 70% of those who embark on training to be a driving instructor never qualify and end up spending a significant sum of money for no reward.
In order to qualify as an Approved Driving Instructor you will need to pass an advanced theory test, an advanced practical driving test and a test of your ability to instruct pupils. You will need to pass all of these within a 2 year timescale, if you don't then you have to start again from the beginning. In order to achieve a pass it's essential that you get the right level of structured training, on an individual basis, from someone who has passed themselves and has the skill and knowledge to give you the best chance of realising you goal. Our instructor training is built on your individual requirements and is delivered on a one to one level. You will not be in a class with 10 or 12 others or in a car with 3 other people.
