The driving test in Medway is being altered from 4th October 2010. In 2008 it was determined by the government that to concur with the driving tests seventy-fifth birthday it ought to be more difficult and exhaustive in an endeavour to reduce the amount of inexperienced drivers involved in accidents.None of these alterations make any difference if you're ready for a driving test. The point is to prevent individuals passing who at the present moment would scrape by and pass their driving test by being lucky. At pace School of Motoring we've have been training these skills for a long time anyway therefore we are idealy placed to teach the new constituents of the driving test. So what's going to change for learner drivers this year?
Independent driving
From the 4th of October for ten minutes of your driving test test you will have to navigate to a destination utilising just diagrams and/or road signs with no instructions by the examiner during the journey. The examiner will offer you two or three directions to follow like "Take the next right then the second jright". A different way it will be done is a variety of directions and instructions like "Take the third left, second left and then follow road signs to Gillingham railway station". For some of these instructions you will be shown a diagram or map. If you ask, the examiner will write down the destination so you know how it's spelt.
It won't matter how many incorrect turns you make or if you fetch up in totally the wrong place. Your destination isn't marked only your driving skill en route is, therefore It doesn't matter if the sign says left and you straight on by mistake but if you see the sign late and cut up other road users up you will fail your driving test If you begin to go the wrong route, simply continue then the examiner will assist you to get back on track. All drivers make errors and take wrong turns and that's the point of this portion of the driving test. It will demonstrate how to avoid making mistakes and how to handle going the wrong way. If you are taking you driving test in Gillingham getting very comfortable navigating the roundabout by Tesco will probably be a very good idea!
Driving Manouevers
You'll just undertake one manouever on your driving test instead of two. Current driving test test routes are founded on having to drive through quiet housing estates in order that there are enough opportunities to undertake manouevers. This will afford you the opportunity to journey a good deal further from the driving test centre in Maidstone, Gravesend or Gillingham so you might well drive in locations you have never seen previously which will establish you're not simply memorising driving test routes.
Some other changes to the driving test are being considered but as yet are not included in the changes coming in in October.
Driver Attitude Test.
This is presently going through its 2nd stage of testing and is highly likely to be brought out. You will be asked questions like "You crashed into a parked motorcar whilst driving, would you report it or drive away?" or "You ran over someone's dog while driving. On a scale of one to ten, how badly do you feel about that?". This will be performed as part of the driving theory test so if you are viewed as to having a poor attitude then you'll have to re-sit the whole theory test.
Lower Drink Driving Limit
The drink-drive limit might be brought down to 50mg per 100ml for experienced drivers and just 20mg per 100ml for new drivers. That means that drinking barely half a pint of normal beer would in all probability put you over the limit. It makes common sense that if you intend on driving you just do not drink altogether.
Declaration of Driving Test Readiness
It might be made so your driving instructor instructor has to sign to confirm you are ready for your driving test and if your standard wae too low they would have to explain why they agreed to let you take the driving test before you were ready.. The thought behind this is that many poor driving instructors are allowing pupils to take their test whenthey simply aren't ready. Not only does this waste your time and money but it's unsafe. This has already created difficulties though. There have been examples of driving instructors accepting payments of up to £2000 per time to sit driving tests for learners, pretending to be them. Police apprehended some instructors in Birmingham during 2009 for this and having to sign a document to allow someone to go on a test could create a "cash for signature" problem.
